Volunteer Background Check/Safety Clinic Info

BACKGROUND CHECKS and LAW REQUIREMENTS for Volunteers

Prospective Robbinsville Little League Coach, Manager and Volunteer Candidates, there are Little League International requirements and Robbinsville Township Law Requirements that must adhered and are listed and discussed below:

2. Little League International (LLI) Volunteer Form (Yearly, All Volunteers)
    Little League International (LLI) "Basic" Volunteer Form (Yearly, Coaching Volunteers "JDP")
3. Copy of Valid Drivers License
4. District 12 Safety Clinic (Good for 3 Years)
5. LLI/CDC Concussion Online Training (Yearly)
6. Protecting Children from Abuse Training (Yearly)
7. CPR/AED Training - Provide Card if you are already Certified or Training Dates below.

Robbinsville Law Requirements
Robbinsville Township has a law requiring all youth volunteers to be fingerprinted and have background checks performed.  This is a Township Law.  Performing this Township Requirement and passing the background check is valid for two years and can be used for any other activity you are volunteering for in Robbinsville (Robbinsville Soccer Association, PAL Football, Girl Scouts etc.)  This is confidential and controlled by the Township.  You must be confirmed by the Township to be on the field and help at practice in RLL as required by Law.  RLL does need your help and this is not a hassle and lasts for three years.

Little League International Requirements

Little League International (LLI) Forms (See above 2 or use below links).  ALL Parent or regular Volunteers must complete the "Volunteer Form", ALL Coaches 'MUST' complete the "Basic Volunteer Form".  The Basic Volunteer form is needed for JDP Background Checks.

3. Copy of Valid Drivers License
A Copy of your signed completed form and a copy of your valid drivers license or valid government identification must be sent to the RLL Safety Officer.  This should be done as early as possible so you can be verified as a volunteer.  If your forms and license are not provided, you cannot be included in Little League clinics and be considered for positions.  This is a Little League Charter Rule and Insurance issue.

The RLL Safety Officer will submit your complete Name including middle name and address to Robbinsville Township to verify your Background Check and if Valid.  After Response the RLL Safety Officer will inform you if you are still valid through the season, not on file (you should know this and just go get fingerprinted), expired, or expires before or during the season.  Again, the fingerprinting lasts Three Years.

Please complete all and email scanned copies of #2 and #3 above to [email protected] (RLL Safety Officer) immediately.  If you need fingerprinting please email a copy of your receipt from #1 above to the same email addresses. See their website for locations, Ewing is OPEN.

Player Evaluations

Managers and Coaches will not be eligible to attend evaluations if 1, 2, and 3 above are not completed.  The only exception will be for #1 above if you are waiting results of your background check update and have either performed your fingerprinting or have a valid date and provide proof via receipt to the RLL Safety Officer.

Draft/Selections
Managers and one "Named Coach" will not be eligible to be Managers or "Named Coaches" and attend the draft if 1, 2, and 3 above are not completed.  The only exception will be for #1 above if you are waiting results of your background check update and have either performed your fingerprinting or have a valid date and provide proof via receipt to the RLL Safety Officer.

Practices/Games
Coaches and or Manager's can be included in Team Practices or Games until 1,2, and 3 above are completed.

4. District 12 Safety Clinics (Required Every 3 Years of Managers and Coaches - Tracked by RLL Safety Officer)

The State Committee is pleased to offer a statewide Virtual Safety Clinic for your leagues. The statewide Virtual Safety Clinic will be run by Jeff Altman - NJ Safety Officer on March 10 from 7:30-9. Jeff will review all important safety guidelines.  All participants will need to register in advance and list their full name, email and League (organization). This clinic will satisfy the ASAP requirement and is good for 3 years.

6. Protecting Children from Abuse Training 
(Must complete annually)
This on‐line course discusses child abuse and the responsibilities of local government to protect children. All Robbinsville Little League volunteers must complete this on‐line course annually and is required by Robbinsville Township.  To access the training, click HERE
